TAAG Angola Airlines has taken another significant step in its fleet modernisation programme with the arrival of a new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, reinforcing the carrier’s long-haul capabilities and ambitions for international growth.
The aircraft, registered D2-TET, landed on Saturday, December 20, at Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN), marking the fourth Boeing 787 Dreamliner to join the Angolan flag carrier’s fleet.
The latest addition further strengthens TAAG’s operational capacity as the airline continues to renew its fleet with next-generation aircraft designed for improved efficiency, passenger comfort and environmental performance.
A Boost to Capacity and Network Expansion
Leased through Bengo LLC, the Boeing 787-10 offers a total seating capacity of 367 passengers, configured with:
- 24 seats in Business Class
- 343 seats in Economy Class
The aircraft’s arrival enhances TAAG’s ability to deploy higher-capacity widebody equipment on key long-haul and regional international routes, supporting the airline’s strategy to expand its network and improve connectivity between Angola, Africa and intercontinental markets.
Focus on Modernisation, Efficiency and Sustainability
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner family is recognised for its advanced technology, fuel efficiency and lower emissions compared to previous-generation widebody aircraft. For TAAG, the addition aligns with its broader objectives around sustainability, operational efficiency and service excellence.
Beyond environmental benefits, the aircraft also delivers improved cabin comfort through modern interiors, quieter operations and enhanced onboard systems, all aimed at elevating the passenger experience.
Positioning TAAG for the Future
With this latest fleet milestone, TAAG continues to demonstrate tangible progress in its transformation journey, underpinned by a modern fleet and a renewed focus on innovation and customer service.
As Angola’s aviation sector evolves and Luanda positions itself as a strategic hub in Southern and Central Africa, the continued introduction of advanced aircraft like the Boeing 787-10 places TAAG in a stronger position to compete regionally and across long-haul markets.
